Robert McKew

Robert McKew CBE〔(CBE )〕 (died 11 October 1944) was an Anglican priest in the 20th century.
McKew was educated at Trinity College, Dublin”Who was Who 1897-1990” London, A & C Black, 1991 ISBN 0-7136-3457-X〕 and ordained in 1902.〔Crockford's Clerical Directory 1940-41 Oxford, OUP,1941〕 He became a Royal Navy Chaplain 〔( London Gazette )〕 and served on (amongst others) HMS ''Hyacinth'', HMS ''Venerable'',〔(Navy List 1908 )〕 HMS ''Cornwall'' and HMS ''Collingwood''. He became Chaplain of the Fleet in 1924 〔''The Times'', Wednesday, 14 Nov 1923; pg. 23; Issue 43498; col G New Chaplain to the Fleet〕 and held the post for five years. He was then Archdeacon of the Isle of Wight until his retirement in 1936.
